Edit: Wow, I didn't read this one well. Try creating the ISO using Wiimm's ISO Tools.

wit copy x:\game.iso x:\game\

will copy every file from the game into a folder called game. Then find the file you want to replace in the folder and replace it. Make sure the filename is identical. Then use WIT again to make the new ISO.

wit copy x:\game\ x:\game-es.iso

Original post; may still be useful if your game freezes or something:
Try editing with a different hex editor like HxD or MadEdit. Take extra care not to add text before the start of or after the end of where the text is in English. Check the header of the file (at the very beginning) and Google to see if it's a known file format. If it is you may be able to decode and re-encode the script into plain and editable text.

Perhaps the game is trying to load Spanish characters from a font that doesn't have any.

First, thanks for answer. n_n

Wimms make an *.iso but the game just freezes at the start of the translated scene.
After a lot of tryes with WiiScrubber and edit files with HxD (i'm beginner on this xP) i can make the first scene shows good and completly translated but the next scene not freezes the game, only not show text or sound.

And I can see the accents are lost ... for example:

"Él" ... shows something like ... "|l" ...i'm stuck again. e_e

It is a very rare event if you can use wordpad and the like in rom hacking and have it do something useful; all the stuff surrounding it is likely not junk data and programs like wordpad remove anything it does not "understand". With your hex editor change one of the words- no inserting, no shifting, no replacing anything beyond the end of the line.

By the looks of things you have an interesting format there- 2e is ASCII for fullstop but three of them in a row all the time is odd (I have not played the game so I do not know if it is there or not but it is unlikely given the context). It looks like you are going to have to learn some actual rom hacking before pushing on with this, the DS rom hacking section is likely a good start as this looks very much like the DS sees a lot of (earlier consoles tend not to see stuff quite like this).

Your post was mostly correct, FAST6191, but you made the same mistake I did. Apparently WordPad is also the name of a hex editor.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
