wait. does this mean. say i'm playing pokemon, and i beat a gym and save. after i do save, i need to soft-reset / reboot the G6 ??
this seems kinda weird, since the sav file is supposed to be a couple kiloobytes and everything.

No is NOT necessary to reboot the G6 immediately after you save any game. You can advance through any game and save any times you want. But if you soft-reset or turn off/turn on the DS you have to wait around 5 seconds to write the save into the internal flash of G6 because it's stored temporarely to the battery/capacitor (whatever is called) of G6. If that battery runs out you can't save any game unless

1)The battery it's rechargeable. Someone can confirm this?

2)If you soft-reset and don't completely turn off the DS. I guess the G6 uses the battery of the DS to write the save and doesn't depend on the built-in battery/capacitor. I am not 100% sure about that either.

Honestly that's the only thing that keeps me away from G6 DS Real and i am also not very confident about the overall build quality of G6. Doesn't seem to me that has the same build quality of previous G6 products. It doesn't even have the plastic seperators between the pins...

well. since you can open the G6, i guess you can replace the battery right? unless its soldered on...those batteries usually last about 2 years er so in my experience.

So, if i soft reset, or turn it off, i just have to wait 5 seconds for it to do a quicksave right? But if i saved properly in game, i can turn it off and on no problem right?

the build quality seems pretty decent to me, the plastic seperators dont appear to have any effect / cause a problem. The scratching when inserting it seems a tad problematic but its gonna be sitting in your DS half the time so it should be fine i think.

Yes that is correct. The save system is similiar like the older M3/G6 Products if you ever used one.

I am really in a big dilemma G6 DS Real or M3 DS Simply?

thanks. seems good then.
also, does a trimmer come with the G6 / does it matter which rom trimmer i use. I found a liink to a "R4 trimmer" which made me question if you need to trim it in a special way for each flashcart. If it does, can you download it off GBalpha / does it come on the CD ??

imo, the Real seems to beat the m3. Fixes the game lag and slowdowns with a internal memory. Its a bit more costly thats for sure, but its worth it imo. You also dont have to worry about the different brands of microSD's (ex, toshiba > kingston > etc)

1. The CAPACITOR is rechargeable.

2. The device saves on reboot, soft-reset either way works.

As for quality I think that is the reason for the delay. I think the G6 team has gone back and tried to fix some of its mistakes before launch.

As for the other questions:

You can use any trimmer for any device. THE R4/M3 teams just released their own since they are awesome and wanted users to not have to search the net looking. And the R4/M3 trimming applications come with the device on the included mini CD-ROM.

As to the big question G6DS Real or M3DS Simply/R4 Revolution the answer hasn't yet become clear. They are both very powerful devices that are similar in many ways. However, don't worry about microSD card speed when thinking about the R4/M3 DS as it is the only slot 1 device that I have tested that performs well with any speed memory. Now the SCONE is another story...

Thanks for the info FifthE1ement. You said the capacitor is rechargeable. My question is how i can recharge it? Is it recharge automatically when i plug the G6 DS Real into the DS or i need to connect the G6 DS Real with the USB Linker and recharge it with my PC?

It charges during play, which is the same method that has been used before in products like the G6 Lite, M3 Lite, etc...
