Hi guys,
I came across a fully black 3ds and noticed that it was different than the 'normal' black 3ds usually in stores. As you can see by the pictures the bottom part of both of the 3dses are dffirent. The bottom part of the 'normal' black 3ds (left) is grey while the fully black 3DS (right)is well fully black from top to bottom. Are these fully black 3ds hard to come by? I did not switch the body and the serial code is intact

IIRC, there was a second black model released (I think there were also 2 white models too) I'm not sure what regions got them, probably Japan and not US, unsure about europe.

Edit: Looks like the US got the short end of the stick with colors

Not from what I've seen. We have many, many colors and designs available here in the US.

What we don't have is affordable healthcare. That must be what you're thinking of there.

Seems to be the "Clear Black" one in @froggestspirit's link - Japanese-only.

Japan always gets a ton of limited edition Nintendo consoles that the rest of the world doesn't.

That'd also explain why the 3DS interface is in Japanese - it's a Japanese model.
