I've been reading up on Free MCBoot, and have been curious about doing it. However, I'm not really dying to hack my PS2, so I've been waiting to stumble across a PS2 cheat device in a local shop. I'm visiting my parents right now, and there's a $20 Gameshark for the PS2 which has been gathering dust for a while now. The Free MCBoot site goes into detail on most cheating devices... except the Gameshark. Does anyone have know if the Gameshark works with Free MCBoot?

This is the one that was in my store, I believe: http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-2-GameSh...0036&sr=8-1

I got mine working with a GameShark...

Follow the FreeMcBoot directions exactly... your best bet is to do the PS1 Exploit trick first to get uLaunchELF to run...

When it tells you to save your system config file, you need to save it as a .md file, with this name :

Your SystemConfiguration.md

Note the space!! MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE SPACE!!

Use the GameShark to copy the .md file over to your memory card, and there ya go!

Thanks for the help, I guess I'll be buying the Gameshark next time I see it. I'm still a bit confused though. On the Free MCBoot site, the guide for Gameshark also mentions Sharkport. Do you also have to purchase a Sharkport, or is a Gameshark just enough? I've got a few PS1 games lying around for the PS1 exploit by the way. As far as I understand, the cheating device is just used for moving files onto the memory card. Are there any other Gameshark/PS1 exploit guides out there you'd be able to link to? Thanks much!

DDoSO attacks are just lazy. You have a botnet to do your bidding and instead of doing something clever you... ping a website.

I mostly use it to check Wikipedia's listed sources because 99% of the time the original source doesn't exist online any more.
