Portal is pretty solid. I'd personally think it's a game pretty much everyone should play. Yeah it may be a little bit overrated, but that's because it's so good and because it's one of those games you almost always end up buying as a new pc user
i.e. super meat boy, half life, etc....

Speak for yourself, those aren't the games you get when you are a new PC user, hardly anyone who turned to PC for games did in all my years in the scene, at most they installed it due to peer pressure. When you start using PC for games you go for better ones, namely those that were the reason for becoming a PC user:P Half Life is another overrated game, it's not bad, just WAY exaggerated at how good it is. Super Meat Boy is fun and all, but seriously, who turns to PC gaming to play a console port (PC version is actually a port of the XBox 360 one)? I've been a PC gamer for a decade and a half now and still don't feel like playing SMB on PC (tried it but prefer it on console, especially PSVita for portability) and same goes for Half Life/Portal/pretty much all Valve's overrated games, if I want a fun classic FPS game I'll just go with Serious Sam 1/2/1stE/2ndE. Those games have actually tiny playerbases (less than 15000 active players which is nothing compared to 1+M other popular games have), it's just that people won't shut up about them and all the HL3 memes from throughout the years haven't helped...

I don't really like Portal, Half-Life or any of Valve's games. I think they're very gimmicky and unenjoyable and I'm actually surprised so many people like them. I don't like anything about the gunplay or gameplay of those games, so I can only believe that whatever makes people love these games is not something I care about.

I guess they do fare better than Postal, though, which honestly feels lost in time. The fact the devs are still around and still making these exact kinds of games is so puzzling to me.

Agree! Never liked any of them.

While I'm at it, although Im aware this is pc games thread, I never caught the charm of naughty dogs games either. A cliché jumping through quick time events. Booring...

I agree, but hey, at least they aren't Ninja Blade, a game that is SO QTE-heavy you get half a dozen QTEs in the intro alone:rofl2:

Yuck. Who ever thought QTE was a good idea? Apart from guitar hero developers.

This thread is quickly derailing, but I just want to say that saying that Guitar Hero is a QTE game is quite a stretch of what a QTE is, in my opinion. Sure, you have to press buttons in rhe right order and at the right time, but it's heavily based on rhythm, whereas QTEs like in RE4 can have you press the button as fast as possible or wiggle the stick a certain way to succeed.

Anyways, let's try to keep this thread more about free games and less about gaming opinions.

May it be, as Enya said.

From Now until Dec 20'th Into The Breach is free on epic
which imo is EPIC.
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/into-the-breach/home

Starting Dec 20'th until Dec 21'st a new game(s?) will be released that is undetermined as of now
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/free-games

Now both of these games have VERY VERY short windows to obtain them so make sure not to miss out!!!
Rats. I missed it! And one from my wishlist as well. :glare:

... But with this many freebies coming up, it's a luxury problem. Epic's certainly giving a lot of quality stuff away! :grog:

For today until tomorrow Little Inferno
will be free on the epic games store
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/little-inferno/home

Starting tomorrow a new mystery game will be free that has something to do with gorillas it seems.
My guess is Zoo Planet. but imo that's a bit pricey of a game to choose
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/
Finally we get some Tomorrow Corporation games, Little Inferno and Human Resource Machine are the only two I'm missing out of all their games, all amazing ones starting with World of Goo back in the day which I still play! Too bad it's not on Steam though, I hate fractured libraries...
