Free $10 PSN credit to unknown recipients

I logged into PSN today seeing that someone sent me a message. Ignoring it, I played some Retro/Grade for a hour or so, then I thought I'd check what it was.
To my surprise, Sony gave me $10 of credit on PSN for apparently no reason that I can find anywhere. I am aware of the "loyal customers" $10 credit they gave a month ago, but this message is worded differently, completely removing "loyal customers" from the message.

I have absolutely no clue on these parameters:
1 - Why they gave me it.
2 - What countries it's for.
3 - Any sort of restrictions.

I am 100% sure of these:
1 - I did not enter any sort of contest for this.
2 - I have had less than $1, but more than $0 in my account for several months now.
3 - I have not made any purchases in over a year, muchless got the $10 free for $50 spent promotion.
4 - It it is valid, as I redeemed it with no problem and have an additional $10 in my PSN wallet.
5 - I have logged on daily (or close) every day for maybe around 4 years.
6 - I have not played a single multiplayer PSN game in at least 3 years.

So, what are you waiting for? Login to your PSN account to see if you got $10 for doing absolutely nothing. Post if you did here, I'm curious how many others got it.

I spent $60+ on PSN plus subscriptions, I did not receive $10, maybe because I live in Australia.

The promotion specifies it won't count to PS+ subscriptions. Also, see #3 on my 100% sure list in my OP, I didn't get it from that.

It appears to be different from the other PSN cash giveaway. If this was part of the old batch she would've gotten it a while ago (and she's consistently logged on to the PSN for weeks after that promotion).

I just got it too. Turned my PS3 on after seeing this and yep, same thing. I didn't get one last month, so maybe they're just giving out to the other people who didn't get one? I spend a decent amount on the PSN store, nothing brag worthy mind you.
