I need some help with formatting my HDD in order to have a FAT partition as well as a WFBS partition for games. I bought a new HDD, and thought that games could be added to HDD and played from FAT partition. When I tried playing the game through GX, it asked me to format the HDD, which I agreed to, and now the whole drive is WFBS format. Can someone help me???

You can have a small FAT32 partition (default max size for windows is 32GB) for homebrew and a second WBFS partition for GX to store games.

Create your FAT32 partition using My Computer\Manage\Disk Management. GX will then use the freespace to create a WBFS partition (FAT32 is in developement).

The CFG Loader supports FAT32 EDIT: if you have Hermes 222 installed.

To format the whole drive as FAT32 you will need to use a utility from your drive manufacturer or gparted. Note the WBFS file system is not known by Windows which will ask if you wish to format it even when it has data in it.

I am still confused. My whole HDD is formatted as WBFS. I want to create a small FAT partition to hold covers, homebrew, etc. and have the other partition to be WBFS to hold all games.

So I have gotten to the Disk Management but I can't seem to figure out how to create a second partition.

Unfortunatly you can't - you have to start again.

1. Delete any existing partititions on your USB HHD, a WBFS partition is listed as RAW
2. Create a new partition and choose FAT32, the maximium size windows will let you have is 32GB. Add a 2nd partition using the remaining space but choose not to format it.
3. Plug the drive into the Wii and use GX it will ask you if you want to format say yes and choose the 2nd partition.
4. Add a game using GX.
5. Plug the HDD back into the PC and use Disk Management to check that you have 2 partitions.

I'm telling you this from memory so ymmv.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb

    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
