I just found two 32MB Smart Media Cards...

I also got an 16-in-1-Card Reader on my Win 7 PC, who has an SM-Card-Slot. If i insert the Cards, Win 7 recognizes both cards as "OtherCards" and says, it has to format them. But than says, it can't, because they are write-protected. I googled a bit, and the only way to activate write-protection on those cards is, to put an metallic sticker on the round dot. But the dot on both cards is free... i don't know... are they both broken?

I'am looking for a way to red/format them... any help?

Haven't tangled with those since XP was current but that sounds like when Windows is being a pain. Have you got a Linux liveCD you can try? For legacy stuff like this that is often a better bet.
