Wow, you're not bias at all.
I can't wait to see the new PSP fail again.

I have a feeling what I'm saying is coming out wrong.

I'm trying to say that not every type of game will be good on the 3DS. Minecraft wouldn't be. I just don't think it'd be good on a mobile platform.

And cut the attitude kid.
I agree with Guildie here.

There have been so many threads on "X Game on 3DS, yeah?!"
Truth is, as Guild said, there are many, many games that would not be suitable on the 3DS, Minecraft being one of them.

Sure the 3DS may be "great", but that doesn't mean every game would work well with it.

No.

1) No way it would run smooth, even if optimized.
2) Wouldn't support texture packs, mods, etc.
3) SMP probably wouldn't be added, and if it was, it would use some global server, since there would be no way for people to host servers, as maps are huge, and there wouldn't be a way to save them anyways
4) Controls would be kind of awkward
5) It just wouldn't have the same charm as it does on PC, and would most likely be very watered down.

And this is coming from probably the biggest Minecraft fan on GBAtemp.

Using small pre-rendered levels it could cope, though it probably wouldn't handle TNT.

It probably wouldn't be survival anyway, something more like Creative is likely.

4) Controls would be kind of awkward

Analogue to move, L/R U/Dto select blocks, A to place and B to destroy.

5) It just wouldn't have the same charm as it does on PC, and would most likely be very watered down.

It would have a similar feel to classic - Amazing. As long as there was Creative MP

^Your not the biggest fan...^

It's unlikely it will happen, and even if it does come to the 3DS it will probably be in the form of a fan-made port once the source code is released.

Though it would be epic.

Yea....id have to agree.....Its simply not powerful enough to run minecraft in its current form.....because for whatever reason....minecraft is one of the most intensive games out there........

Maybe if minecraft was optimized down the line then it could be possible

EDIT: whats with the bumpage?

It's because the way minecraft is programmed *shudder* it's messy as fuck....putting it simply, it was openly admitted somewhere in the minecraft forums, and that eventually he'll get around to recoding things so it's alot cleaner and less of a resource hog.

I just don't see minecraft ever leaving the PC.
maybe when the FULL VERSION is out, Notch MIGHT THINK ABOUT putting it onto consoles.
If he DOES put it onto consoles, he MIGHT put it on the 3DS

Doesn't need be a port, it could be some kinda remake, made just for 3DS and still made possible to play multiplayer with the regular minecraft.

Not saying it should be made on there, just saying it possible.

I'm sure if they announce a Minecraft 3DS edition you be sure to get it...

I haven't played minecraft but from what I'm heard it would take real power to do that.
3DS doesn't have that much power IMO.
Since this post I've played minecraft classic.
I think it could easily be ported, especially since it's java.
I don't think it requires a good processor to run either.

One problem they are busy enough adding and fixing stuff on minecraft, imagine all the bugs and lag it would have on a 3ds.
That why I said they should try to remake one once it done not port unfinished minecraft.

except its not minecraft, just a clone of it
the one that was released and pulled from the app store I mean

According to cvg there's been a great many clones.
Also, apple consumers don't care about poor clones - just look at angry birds.

This one is an official version however.

Well that's different. Sure there were a bunch of Minecraft clones released, but that's not what we're talking about.
Mojang's releasing an official Minecraft for iOS/Android.

I have been playing a lot of Minecraft on PC, and have been thinking about how perfect it would be on the 3DS. I think the 3DS version could be the best version on any system, with the 2 screens and stylus. Bottom screen could be for inventory, etc.

Even high-end PC's can struggle with running Minecraft, though, so making a 3DS version might be tough, or have to be a somewhat different game. The 3DS might not have enough memory to store all the map data...

I read an article on how notch will only put things on another system (e.g XBL) if there is enough to warrant it. Minecraft in 3D might be enough, though prerendered levels along with a save file opomized for little ram and less features make it seem less likely.
