I've had my DS Lite for a little over a year now so I believe my warranty has expired. Recently though, I've noticed that my 'A' button is really worn down. I don't know how to explain it well, but there's little to no resistance when you press down on it compared to the other buttons. It still responds though when you press down on it, it's just really weak.

Is there anyway to fix it without opening up the console? If I do have to open it up, how can I fix it?

first time hearing about this problem ..

you can try what people do about the L button ?

they cover it with their mouth and start blowing as maybe their might be dust in the way ?

that's your best bet though

sounds like the rubber pad underneath the buttons could be worn down
if nothing else works you can buy them on ebay so just swap them over

I had the same problem with my d pad and my a button (too much Mario Kart).

Get these and a triwing screwdriver. It's an easy fix but you have to take apart your DS lite, just don't lose any screws or spend too much time poking around in there.

I should also mention that they won't feel as stiff as the ones that Nintendo uses but they are a lot better than the worn out ones. Good luck.
