well if it was my product i would sell it for maximum profit until a copy or lower priced equivalent arrived then drop the price to beat the competition.

You need to look at more than just the parts to get a cost. There is assembly, initial programming of the device, testing (let's assume), development of the device software, development of the PC software, packaging, testing the majority of games to make sure they work (let's hope), etc.. I think the price is a little high for it's initial release but if they can get it more power to them.

I do predict many people breaking off the drive ribbon cable holder/socket during install.

This drive emulator is a great thing. I wouldn't like to boot my PC every time I wanted to play a Wii game though. It would be fun for experimenting but with the wide array of available chips and backup loaders I just don't see that much of a market for it.

You need to understand that in a perfect market, people will sell goods for whatever the target market thinks its worth.

Supply and demand, do some research into economics before you open your gab.

Wow, just wow. You're preaching to the choir.

Oz, I've got a Masters in Austrian Economics, thank you very much. I'm well aware of market value, scarcity & value, and am an advocate of Free Market Economics.

When a product like this comes out, the supply of it is scarce and the demand is high. However, other companies in the market will quickly fill in the gap for the supply side of the equation. I'm willing to wait a month or so and allow the market to rustle through the madness and pay 25-50% less. I also want others to test/review before putting my hard earned cash down.. Some others don't have that desire. That's their right as a consumer.

So I would advise you not to challenge people without knowing a little about their background.

=p

can i say owned?

lol

Yes you can

OzMod... hey nothing against you and your company... but slow your roll... we know you are just trying to get the jump on this... your a salesman for pete's sake... if you deny being that...then you need to find another business to invest in because that's all it is one big hustle. And you are just trying to hustle before the wide market system hits this product. It's cool.. but us as consumers on this particular forum, we are well aware to warn people on this site before they contribute to your paycheck.

So stop trying to sell it and let your reputation as a business handle that part before your foot becomes permanently inserted in your mouth.

I still might come and see you after this has been reviewed by us smart consumers and you meet the competition prices, of course.

It's possible that Ozmodchips tests them before sending them out.

cool, flatmii can be installed in place of my broken dvd drive! haha i'm already getting ideas on how i'm going to custom mod my wii casing and mount in on my desktop computer... think of it as a computer peripheral that runs with on my comp
smile.gif

now the only problem is if i were to use a video stream switcher, would i still need to see what's going on on the computer stream once i've run the software and loaded the game, or can i completely switch it to the wii video stream? still need confirmation before i buy it... cos it would be a hassle if the set up needs 2 screens

i'd need one hell of a long USB cable for this lol, to be honest i wouldn't install this shit...

Wait, so you're saying that the Wii will have to be hooked up to your computer?
Yeah, you need the computer to use the Flatmii software to load the ISOs.
i would say this is more useful for those with already a faulty dvd drive or intend to buy a 2nd hand broken wii cheap with a faulty drive etc... if you already have a collection of backups all burnt and ready, use a mod chip, it should be more convenient
