I was reading over the guides on how to do it but what I am confused about is what the actual benefits are from risking turning your DS into a paperweight other than getting rid of the health warning?

Shouldn't this be posted in the flashme section?

And to make this post useful flashing your ds allows you to boot those slot 2 solutions without needing a passcard, etc. It also prevents your ds getting bricked if you dont brick it while flashing

Flashing your DS is pointless, with current devices.

It's not entirely pointless. I love not having the annoying health and safety warning screen anymore. It also enables a few features involving Download Play but those aren't as prominent of features.

Protection against bricking is quite useful. Also, no health screen is nice.

Oh, and as has been said, this should be moved to FlashMe.
