Four regional offices in Europe and one in Australia are now closed. The European offices are from Spain, Germany, France, and Benelux. They have done this to focus more on the digital sides of gaming. No other offices, including London's, were effected. Could this possibly happen in the future to Sony or Nintendo?

Maybe...I'm half yes and half no.

I personally love Rhythm Thief. It's kind of sad I might not see games like that any more in digital physical format. However, I hope that the eShop can handle big games like that. EDIT: GAH! THE BRAIN FARTS!!!

Surely you mean digital distribution and not digital games? Because for the last 30 years or so they've been making digital games.

I think digital distribution is a good choice for games that does not sell what is expected
With digital distribution you can low the costs and make your product easily accessible
I'm waiting to see what big title will come like that, hopefully we can get a great discount

I would like to see Sega release a bunch of mini-games as cheapy downloadables to test the waters for full versions.

Something that immidiately springs to mind is the Link Attack subgame on Christmas NiGHTS; where you get to play through 1 course of the game continuously to see how many links you can achieve. This in its own would be a cool little game and worth a couple of quid (around the same price as Bird Mania), it would also allow them to gauge interest in a sequal/remake of the full game.
