- True GTA game - sandbox gameplay, open-world environment, gritty crime narrative.
- M-rating
- Isometric camera angle
- Cel-shaded polygons w/ black borders
- good touch-screen implementation - "tasteful" minigames, streamlining interface
- UI based on a PDA - hub for email, contacts, map, music player, GPS, stat-tracking
- stats uploaded to Rockstar Social Club website via Wi-Fi
- finger-sized icons
- missions designed for shorter periods of play, arcade quality
- aiming with control pad, auto targeting with R button
- subtle autosteer
- if you fail a mission, you can jump back to the action sequence
- chain gun, flamethrower
- good portion of Liberty City is modeled in the game (different routes than console games)
- no probems with load times, draw-in or frame rate
- lots of pedestrians, cars, etc on screen
- Wanted system - objective is to disable police cars any way possible
- real-time weather effects, 24-hour day/night cycle
- lots of radio stations to listen to (more instrumentals than vocals)
- 800,000 lines of hand-optimized source code (hey, the people like the info, right?)
- no details yet on multiplayer/Wi-Fi features

More here.

^That looks great! Much better than I would have thought. I'm looking forward to this one. It should be a bit of a different GTA experience than the others.

Quote Opi for truth, same feeling, different guy.

It looks like a mix between GTA 2 and the later ones and that's just the way I want it.

so its slightly 3Dish?

Well...no. Actually, it's going to be fully polygonal and 3D, but from an isometric perspective -- at least, that's my understanding. So, kind of a similar view to the one in Phantom Hourglass, though judging by the screenies, a little more toward the topside than the backside.

But you're saying same feeling, he's saying it will be different...

^I think he means that he has the same sentiments as me. Not that this GTA will be the same as the others.

I have both the PSP GTA's. I know the PSP can pull off an experience near identical to the PS2 versions. So I was hoping that the DS wouldn't try and do that same experience, because it simply doesn't have the raw power to pull it off. The way this one looks is that it'll make good use of the DS's strengths. Cell-shaded works extremely well on the DS. Just look at Tony Hawk American Sk8tland or Zelda PH. The touch screen stuff and map on the bottom screen should be great.

Hit i think it's too early to say this is gonna be the actual quality but the screens depict the right angle and graphics of the game
U can see both jalaneme and irpacynot screens are different as they are from different sources but u can see the angle being the same it's only the quality thats a little different...
