Famitsu magazine over here in Japan has reviewed the Nintendo 3DS launch titles and the scores have made their way online. What I find amusing is that, even though Nintendo has specifically placed a focus on 3rd party launch titles during the launch of the 3DS, their own title, Nintendogs + Cats still comes out on top.

* Nintendogs + Cats – 10/9/9/10
* Samurai Warriors: Chronicles – 9/9/8/8
* Super Street Fighter IV 3D – 9/8/8/9
* PES 2011 3D – 8/8/8/8
* Professor Layton and the Mask or Miracle – 8/8/8/8
* Ridge Racer 3D – 8/8/7/9
* Super Monkey Ball 3D – 9/8/8/7
* Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D – 6/6/6/6
* Puzzle Bobble 3D – 6/6/6/6

*gasp* Puzzle Bobble 3DS scored lowest? How could that be? arcade games over a decade old always have awesome ports worth the suggested launch prices of $40...right?....RIGHT?

Srsly, tho, Famitsu is infamously tough on games, but this has me worried what crap they did to SSF1V3D to make it score lower than nintendogs.

shame no pilot wings review... I bet Dogs+ Cats did better by pure cuteness or having so much more added form the first entries that it just blew their minds... with puppies!

I'm glad that Monkey Ball scored well, I'm excited about that game, even though the series has been going downhill since the GCN games. Maybe it's a return to glory

I would have thought SSFIV would have scored the highest, but then, the Japanese do love their virtual pets. These are the people who gave us the tamagotchi, after all.

The only fun thing about Nintendogs was terrorizing the dogs with a remote controlled mario kart....and throwing a asteroid at my dog

I'll wait for a little less biased review scores
As in "I'll discredit the validity of these positive impressions and wait for more negative ones so I can hate on everything"?

Famitsu has been the subject of controversy many times
handing out good reviews to just about anything (and some perfect scores also) to games that dont deserve them

Oh, you were distrustful of the source, not how a system you could potentially not like could get good scores.

I take that back then.
