I'm using al9h with luma3ds. The firmware is 11.0.0.33, I think. I've been online with the console a few times etc. I'm getting a nag "ready to start system update".

I don't want to update, and I'm frightened that my nephew will get hold of this accidently and just click on 'ok' and update it.

Is there a way for me to delete the pre downloaded (?) update or just get rid of the nag or something? Thanks for any help.

On FBI, Pending title -> delete the pending titles.
edit: indeed, you can update, no risks XD

on a9lh you can update just fine

Thanks. Should I boot in emunand and try it first? Can that be used as some sort of experimental sandbox, if you know what I mean?

I realise I'm a real noob at this, but I'm reading things like "why it's not always ok to update a9lh" when I do a search etc..

there is seriusly no need for emunand. just make sure to be using latest Luma3ds and update the FW

But just because A9LH is theoretically safe to update and future-proof, you should ALWAYS check with the scene for all reported issues with the update. I usually wait 3-4 days after an update release but you can do so immediately after it is confirmed safe overall.

Thanks for the reassurance, folks.

I actually haven't upgraded yet, I just did what omegadrien talked about with FBI.

I don't really go online anyway (just used it with the freeshop). I guess I'll upgrade the firmware when super mario maker comes out.

Yeah, I'm kinda excited for that game too.

EDIT: 250th post!
