Yeah, only three extensions stopped working for me.
First was linkification which will surely get a prompt update to 5.0
Second was gamefox which seems to have support issues right now.
Third was searchbar autosizer, which I imagine would work if you tweaked the internal compatibility parameters.

Starts up slower than IE 9 for me. IE 9 is as fast as Chrome.

If you wanna see how fast any of your major browsers start up on your computer, type the following into a batch file:

Code:
@echo off

start "Firefox" "Location of Firefox.exe"
start "Chrome" "Location of Chrome.exe"
start "IE" "Location of iexplorer.exe"
start "Opera" "Location of Opera.exe"
start "Safari" "Location of Safari.exe"

Only use the lines of code of which you'd like to use. So if you're testing Chrome, IE, & Firefox, only copy those lines into the batch file. To find the location of the executable, right-click on any shortcut to the browser and click "Properties". Copy the text in "Target". The location in "Target" usually already has quotes so no need to type them out when you're pasting in the location in the batch file.

Remember to disable all add-ons for a fair fight.

have you tried ie9. It's actually pretty good. Personal speed test i did just now between Firefox (Aurora, 6.0a2) and IE9 - (both on second start up):

Please do enjoy your viruses, constant pop-ups and more security threats than while smoking in a bomb factory. Fair trade-off for those 2 seconds less of load time.

I've been using some unofficial plugins for a while now (on ff4), I can't find NEW unofficial plugins for 5

I'll update when those 2 plugins that are incompatible for me get updated.

I'll also say that IE9 has always been slow for me as well.
Whenever I start it it takes a while to become available (frozen at first)
when I load pages it freezes for a while too, i cant scroll or type or even switch tabs until it finishes loading.
I purely and completely hate IE.

Hopefully it's a lot better than 4, because 4 is an unstable piece of shit for me. And now I can't downgrade to 3.6 without my addons going to shit--as in, the add-on functionality ceases to function completely, no new add-ons, no disabling, no anything. I had a pretty nice one to control FireFox's horrible memory gobbling and it's pretty much useless now 'cause I can't revert to a version of FireFox that supports it. I hate giving updates a chance

Internet Explorer for the longest time was about trying to control web standards, its only now that they're cleaning up their act.

For real, the default GUI for IE9 is so much nicer, all the clutter is removed and the necessary functions are still there.

But I still wouldn't use it.

some strange thing... something is quite off with the text rendering in FX5 but i can't seem to pin-point exactly what.
Also i play Battlefield Play4Free and firefox said it wasn't compatible with FX5, but when i updated FX i just redownloaded the extension and it worked. weird

Company does not give frequent software updates -> rage about it

I'd argue that the update revision number doesn't properly reflect the actual content updated.
A whole version iteration with mostly performance improved and a couple of features, it doesn't compare to the switch from Firefox 2 to 3 or 3.6 to 4.

This is more like 3.5 to 3.6

Installed it.

Works perfectly. Having the shit computer I have, I can really notice the performance upgrade.

And now I have the grammar checker.

Oh wow! It's finally faster than IE9. But it won't last. In a few updates it will be over bloated again, just like how 2.5+ did.
What're you talking about? Internet Explorer always lagged behind the competition, and that includes IE9.

Firefox 4 was already running a ton faster than Internet Explorer 9.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait a while. My most important add-ons aren't compatible, so... that sucks.

I'm excited though!

Most of the time the old plugins still work on the new versions.
There is a simple block thats deactivates them/keeps them from installing, to make sure the creator tested the plugin first and made sure it does work correctly.
To circumvent this block you can use another browser to download the plugin as xpi file.
Open it with 7zip or winrar and extract install.rdf.
With an editor you can now change the maximum version number, for example: CODE4.0.*toCODE5.*
Save the change and drag install.rdf back into the archive.
Then you can drag the xpi file into Firefox to install the plugin.
