ROM Hack Final Fantasy IV: lowering difficulty?

While I may not be a romhacker... I'm fed up enough to ask.

How feasible is it, to hack the game so it'll be easier? This is the most difficult FF4 version they've ever released. Something which, as a purist in such regards, completely infuriates me. Thanks.

You can download the cheat pack for your flashcart by Narin, which allows you to activate many different hacks for the game, such as 999 stats, and all moves etc

How does that work? Patching cheats into the rom would be perfect also.

Don't think my older cart has its own cheat feature in DS mode.

When you say hard do you mean need to grind or do you mean need to check enemies and determine the best course of action?

I've played other FF4 versions enough, to know this remake is far more grind heavy. Never in the rest did even random enemies deal such large amounts of damage early on.

Anyway. I appreciate the help. Making this easier by any means will make me sooooo happy!

Depending on your flashcart, you just have to download the latest file and update your flashcarts cheat database as described. It will definitely have the hacks for FF4, I used them to get past some small parts.

yeah the enemies deals lots of damage but that make the game more interesting

Probably because it's based on the original Japanese SNES game, instead of the piss easy version the US got.

Well, I can tell you it crushes the US PSX version and the fan-translated Japanese SNES one in difficulty.

Don't know about the original untranslated Japanese SNES game.

Why would you want to make it easier >_>, its susposed to be hard @_@, its final fantasy.
If you want easy play something else. And hacking final fantasy=epic fail
EDIT: If i can beat it im sure anyone can >_>, especially seeing how i give up most FF games before i finish

well i wouldn't say it was hard, but it was EXTREMELY grind heavy. and yeah i hate grinding, personally i think its a waste of time. so wat would i do? i would go face a boss, if i get owned, i would go turn on the exp cheat, set it to 4x. go fight sum random dudes, and level up my characters a bit (usually 1 lvl each), then go bak and try again. u may say i'm cheatin, but w/e, i call it saving time. (especially since i have very little time to game nowadays)

wow this is the 1st ive heard of a final fantasy being too hard that people want to tone down the killer ai. it gets easier on successive playthroughs so just suck it up

SLOW work on most bosses
use you argument (the RIGHT way), on NON-last party chars to get better argument

Meanwhile, everybody else can enjoy a game with new features and enhancements
