FF7 remake being released as a "Multi part series"

It's been revealed that the highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII remake will be released as a "multi part series" with each offering a "unique experience"

This may come as a blow to fans if this means the whole story of VII won't be available immediately. The announcement has yet to be properly clarifled.

if it is multi part series unknown # of parts
so
it might be something like
part one main FFVII story
part two crisis core story
part three Dirge of Cerberus story
I REALLY hope it's this and not that they're cutting up the main vii story

As long as the "main FF7" isn't released in multiple episodes...

Just gonna echo other people on this. If they break up the main story into sections and release it seperately then im not buying any of it. They are pushing the boat out further and further and testing what customers will put up with. If the full game is not there on release date (even if it takes 2-3 years to come out) then im not buying it. I refuse to buy an unfinished game and so should everyone else.

Basically this.

If Squeenix is really gonna split the main story, they would probably split in three parts.
Just like the original game. :P

Or more probably, for maximum profit, several episodes of, like, four hours each.
Buuh, Squeenix, buuh. Shame on you.

I sincerely hope that's not going to happen. 3 disc was OK at the time, due to physical limitation. But doing so now would be stupid. Milking the cash cow is the only reason why this could be a thing

They made different games. Not episodes of a single game, comparable to CDs from the PS1 era.

I was more referring to the various movies, games and other things related to FF7. Like the recent inclusion of Cloud in Smash. Which was probably done to make publicity for the remake.

I'm fine with that.

I'm reffering to the OP, in which states "multiple episodes".

What are those episodes? Parts of a single game, or upcoming remakes of the sequel/prequel?

Only time will tell that, my friend. And it'll probably be bad.
Everyone, brace yourselves. Winter is- I mean, episodic or not, I'm sure something won't be right 'bout this remake.

...How many times did I use the word "probably" today? Probably too much.
Ah, dangnabbit.

What is this, fucking Telltale? I betcha they'll charge $60 for each part, but people will buy the shit out of it because of hype. This is the same strategy that movies like the Hunger Games are using, double the parts = double the money and half the plot at a time :o

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
