I literally couldn't get off santa until I was late 10!

One that stands out to me was during my time as fifth grader, I hated being in school because my teacher was a real a**hole to me, even though I wasn't a bad student, so I skipped a lot of school during 1995/1996. Well, my brother and I decide to go up the road to a nearby park so our dad wouldn't catch us at home (had his lunch breaks there), and as we're walking toward the park, a neighbor who knew us well stopped to ask us why we were there. Naturally, I didn't want to get caught, so we lied about our being there. I told her we've been checked out by our parents and that we were on our way back to our house. Whether or not she bought it, I never found out to this day. Suffice to say my mom came home from work and boy was she pissed and very freaked out at our mysterious absence. This is after she found out we skipped school, how she found out I'll never know.
