Hello, my switch is no longer spinning the fan while docked, even though hardware overlay says the switch is calling for 100%. This has caused my switch to turn off for overheating. If I take the switch out of the dock, the fans suddenly kick in and cools itself down. Additionally, when the switch is docked, the Joycon's don't charge, but do in handheld.

I had this issue. I tried going for software solutions but was having trouble getting anything to slow down the fan.

I bought a new fan piece and went in and replaced it myself. I am not a pro at this myself and would have only replaced a drifting stick on a joy-con. I found some video on how to open it and replace the fan and was good to go

you can even check my history here to see my fan issues and the solutions given to me in the past

Are you using twaks on the SD:/atmosphere/config/system_settings.ini file?

Or do you use the OC-Suite?
I am using this code in the system_settings.ini file
[tc]
use_configurations_on_fwdbg = u8!0x1
tskin_rate_table_console_on_fwdbg = str!"[[-1000000, 10000, 64, 64], [35000, 41000, 80, 100], [41000, 45000, 100, 128], [45000, 51000, 128, 255], [51000, 1000000, 255, 255]]"
tskin_rate_table_handheld_on_fwdbg = str!"[[-1000000, 10000, 40, 40], [35000, 41000, 64, 90], [41000, 45000, 90, 128], [45000, 51000, 128, 255], [51000, 1000000, 255, 255]]"
holdable_tskin = u32!0xEA60
touchable_tskin = u32!0xEA60

If you remove that from ini file and restart console, how is the fan behavior?

Do not forget to backup your file
The same behaviour.

Ok, I have learned that its not Docking specific, but charging, as the same symptoms happen while just using nintendo's charger
