Gaming fan is making to much noise

a few days ago i installed a dvd writer, but now the fan in my computer makes about 7-8 times more noise, does anybody know how to fix that?

I would check why it is spinning that much faster, could be some airflow issue. Fixing the noise either means replacing the fan or letting it spin slower (lower rpm = less noise).

It could also be an obstruction of it's airflow that is causing the problem. Anyway making it spin slower can be done via software (assuming it is connected via the motherboard and it is supported) via for example speedfan, or in hardware by hooking it up to the 5V line instead or hooking up a resistor / fan speed controller in the wire.

Be wary with your temps though when you start doing such things!
