a few days ago i installed a dvd writer, but now the fan in my computer makes about 7-8 times more noise, does anybody know how to fix that?
I would check why it is spinning that much faster, could be some airflow issue. Fixing the noise either means replacing the fan or letting it spin slower (lower rpm = less noise).ddp127 said:

Anyway making it spin slower can be done via software (assuming it is connected via the motherboard and it is supported) via for example speedfan, or in hardware by hooking it up to the 5V line instead or hooking up a resistor / fan speed controller in the wire.

make sure u have the latest drivers. also via task manager, check out much of ur cpu is being used
