Hacking FAKE VS REAL

Hey i bought two card for my parents from modchips direct and they are blue with a longer pin. Is this real or fake?
MY card from yeahgeek is blue with a short pin. Tried looking around and got more confusion than answers. Does anyone know?

Short pin is fake, long middle pins are real
Real also have a blue pcb (there are a few greens ones out there)
Fake pcb usually are black colored

It's been debated as to whether short pins are factory error models that were rejected by Gateway for official resell, but were bought in bulk by unofficial companies looking to sell potentially faulty cards at a slightly lower cost.

Either way, the longer pin versions should be 'officially' real.

i wonder why they would show the small pin in the pics.

so if it is manufactured by gateway should it work but have a cosmetic difference?

If I'm perfectly honest, I don't think anyone knows for sure either way.

I'd take it up with Gateway if I were you. Asking on a message board that is full of people who are absolutely sure theirs is real and everyone else's are fakes doesn't seem like an unbiased source.

alright i was looking at the blue on the card and it was shorter than the others, but yeah the pin part is longer ... Im feeling pretty inteligent right now
