Hacking Failed to mount CTRNAND

I finished hacking my 3ds and was playing cia games I installed on it, when I got a black screen after adding more cia files to my sd cards cia folder. I went into godmode to try and restore, but now I'm getting "failed to mount ctrnand" every time. I tried using ctr transfer but that didn't work either. I'm kind of a noob, can anyone help me out? I was just going to uninstall it with the uninstallhax script for gm9 but I keep getting a "native_firm not found" error.

I did, and nothing worked there either. I can still boot into emunand though, so I don't THINK it's a total brick.. hopefully.

Well, sounds like your internal NAND is dead. You better hope you don't lose your emuNAND at this point.

Errm.... idk. @Lilith Valentine, know anyone who might be able to shed some more light on this situation. I am currently a tad tired and cannot think straight.

Look into issue, I am finding different results, but apparently a CTRNand transfer can help fix this issue

First make sure everything on tour sd is up to date. (godmode, d9wip, luma,etc)

Have you tried renaming godmode to 'boot.firm'

What did you use to make the CTRnand Backup? Maybe try restoring that again, using the same method.

My friend you simply need to perform another CTRNAND transfer using Decrypt9 not Godmode9. Godemode doesn't restore the CTRNAND correctly, the same way D9 does. It is known.

Does that happen every single time you boot? I get those errors all the time from random things like files not being read quick enough before they're loaded (mainly with GBA games, or if I try to boot *hax* programs before the homemenu fully loads).

Yes unfortunately.. The 3ds doesn't even boot without the sd card, the only thing I can get to work is EMUNAND. is there anyway I could get my cias (gba games) to run in emunand? That's all I really care about at this point.

GBA games can't be run from emuNAND alone, they have to be installed to the sysnand as well to function properly.

Have you ever tested your SD card? Putting some CIA files in a folder on your SD card isn't something that usually causes a black screen. It makes me think your SD card is dead or dying. Go here https://3ds.guide/h2testw-(windows) And test your SD card. Make a backup and put it on your PC somewhere, also make a backup of your emuNAND using Godmode because H2testw will format your SD card.

If you get any other result other than "test finished without errors" you should replace the SD card.

Hey, looks like you lost your movable.sed file. The ones included in the CTRTransfers aren't meant to be used because GodMode9 or Decrypt9 is meant to backup and use your own movable.sed. Appears yours was not available to backup and so it's trying to use the blanked out empty one from the CTRTransfer image which will result in this screen. Can you check your SD card and see if there's a file called essential.exefs in your SD:/gm9/out folder?

Hey, sorry for the late reply! You forgot to quote my post so I didn't get any notifications about it. Since you don't have an essentials backup I have some bad news for you. The saves and games you had installed will likely not be recoverable but we can likely fix your sysNAND.

Download this movable.sed file I have attached and use GodMode9 to copy it to 1:/private/movable.sed replacing the one that's there. Once it's copied, press A on it and choose to Calculate CMAC. If the CMAX fails press A to fix it. Then try booting your 3DS.
