Hello i'm kinda noob with all of this and i want to be sure i don't make a mess, so the thing is i recently bought a switch from a pawn shop, the thing is it has parental control and I want to remove that and then do a factory reset, so as far as my understanding goes i need to install Goldleaf. So my questions are the next:

-Will my sysNAND get dirty if i create the emuMMC and install there Goldleaf to extract the ID?
-Should i keep the emuMMC or should i remove it aswell if i do a factory reset on the sysNAND? Any considerations i should take on how to do it safely?
-If i do a Nand backup after doing all what i mentioned earlier (the emuMMC and then the reset) will my backup be clean?

So to summarize i want to get rid of PC then wipe everything and doing it safely to avoid ban, and then start modding the console

1) Creating EmuMMC wont dirty your Sysnand. EmuMMC is a duplicate of your Sysnand. EmuMMC base of your SD and Sysnand is base of your system memory so they're both completely separate from each other.

2) Yes you should keep EmuMMC and No it wont affect it when you factory reset your Sysnand. You should first factory reset your system, boot into hekate, back up your nand, create EmuMMC and then install any homebrews or piracy.

3) As long as you dont install any piracy or homebrews onto your CFW Sysnand before back up. Your Sysnand will always be clean.

  1. Creating emuMMC is done either in Hekate or on the computer meaning its performed outside of the Switch's operating system, Horizon so creating emuMMC shouldn't dirty sysMMC
  2. Factory resetting sysMMC has no effect on emuMMC
  3. If the owner never ran CFW or homebrew, the backup should be clea
