In theory, yes. Practically, I doubt it. The things modified aren't related to updating the firmware. It really just is code to add plugin support by matching extensions. I just put the notice about bricking because like most unofficial modifications, there's always the theoretical chance of bricking if either I introduce a bug or some change I make somehow trips an extant bug.
If I were you and interested in that pogoshell support, I might use Sterophonick's theme since it incorporates my changes, gathered a bunch of plugins, and reorganizes things a bit to be a little more tidy. I've been too lazy to fiddle with my EZ-Flash Omega for a while, so I can't personally vouch for it, but based on the git commits it looks pretty nice.
