I played through 5 games on Super Mario Land 2 and it didn't save any of it Tried this several times with no luck.... and sometimes it displays "MICROSD INITIAL OK" when I reset. What could be causing this and what's the fix?

Sure your using a clean no-intro Rom?

Ok that checks out, possible using on a modified system?
I am using it on a modified GBA, have tried it on an unmodified DMG-01 as well

Also I just noticed in another post that I should check the SAVER folder, but I don't even have that folder on my card

Then Idk I'm out of ideas as I play it on my modified GBC and it plays and saves just fine DX patch v1.8.1

Okay, so this is interesting. I created that SAVER folder, and now when I reset it says it's saving, but it gets stuck on that screen. If I reset and load Super Mario Land 2 it's saved my progress. So it's at least partially solved.

First of all, congratulations on solving the problem.

But I'm still curious to know the capacity of the MicroSD card you're using, and the size of the file allocation unit you're formatting the SD card with!

Sure, it's a Sandisk 4 GB with FAT32, 32k cluster size

Did you buy this card a long time ago?
We're also curious about the percentage of EZ-FLASH Junior users who experience the kernel not being able to create the SAVER folder when backing up the save for the first time.
Need to find the commonality of this problem, the current probability is that it's out on older SD cards

I believe this was a memory card from a New 2DS XL, but I'm not positive. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it was barely used at the time I formatted it

I have the same problem, the ez flash doesnt create a SAVER folder, thus doesnt save any game
I tried with an 8GB vs 2GB in case 32K cluster size was the issue but with no luck
These are pretty old SD cards, don't know why that would be a problem, but I'll try with newer SD to test

And if I press the reset button instead on powering off, the systems hangs on "Loading..." forever

PS: creating manually a SAVER folder doesnt solve anything, and I'm using no intro rom just in case
