Is it possible to use your computer's disc drive, and use a program to rip a wii game to the computer?

There are very few specific drives that can rip Wii discs in PC, but it takes a long time I believe compared with ripping it using an app such as CleanRip.

I am assuming that this also works for Gamecube games as well?

I was hoping for a solution that would be quicker than 90 minutes per game (i guess it would be quicker for GCN since the disc is so much smaller) because I have a collection of about 600 GCN games which I am trying to back up.

CleanRip is excellent for Gamecube games, but it stops ripping Wii games when it gets to 85%. "Error: Motor has stopped". WTF? So, I use USB Loader GX for Wii games instead.

Fortunately I am only interested at the moment in backing up my GCN games. Do you need a specific drive for CleanRip, or is any DVD drive able to do the trick?

I just bought a GCN Broadband adapter which I am waiting to come in the mail, so if worse comes to worse, I can always take advantage of the exploit where you set up your computer to be a server for Phantasy Star Online and dump the iso to your computer through HTTP protocol, which takes about 10 minutes to backup a game according to a tutorial written by InsaneNutter at Digiex.net.
