Try with FBI or with Action Replay DS
Most bootlegs have a bad sav file. Specially Pokémon bootlegs.

Read above, already mention that i've tried twl
do you happen to have an old DS?
you could try with the DS backup tools ,but you require an old DS or DS lite... (plus flashcart)
i never managed to find the options to dump and whatnot on the fbi...
you can as last resource write on the twl save tool thread and ask the guy who made it to have a look at it maybe he can modify the tool with a function to select save type or whatever

How can i extract it with FBI?
Insert your DS(i) Game, go to FBI, and go to TITLES, finally, select your DS(i) Game and select "export save data" the save will be saved in sd:/fbi/save/[SAVENAME].sav
most NDS have save names, like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time = POKEDUNTOKI.sav
keep the same name of the save after you edit it. or you fbi will not overwriye the save.
to inject it, put the save at the same folder was it. Go again to Titles, and select your DS(i) Game, finally, select "Import Save Data" and that' all.

Try a way to dump the ROM, then play it on Desmume, and then export the save as .sav. I pretty much think both the rom and the save are stored in the same chip, being this a bootleg.

as far i know, save can't be in the same chip, basically, needs one for the ROM and other chip for the Save file, also depends of the save type. for example, Pokémon FireRed (original) uses EEPROM save type, meanwhile, if is it bootleg, it uses another save file type. and also, the game will say "The X is not installed" "Save Data is ok... [deleted...]"
Bootlegs also have sav access. but idk about the bootleg savs on ds. specially pokémon games.

I actually managed to get my pirated Platinum to dump by jiggling the cart until the NDS adapter (I think pokedit still sells it, not sure) recognized it. When that got annoying and I got an R4i-SDHC flashcart, I used NDS Backup tool, no issues at all, instantly recognized the game, though the hassle was transferring to PC in only a WEP connection, which required digging up a generic USB wifi adapter and setting up shop on that. I'm just spitting ideas if the FBI method doesn't work.

I was saying this because I remember there was this one guy who dumped his own bootleg copy of Donkey Kong Country for GBA, and then he found out that the save was inside the ROM itself when he played it in an emulator. Maybe the case could be the same with this game, who knows.

I was unable to extract it with FBI. Any more ideas?

P.S. I have DS lite also with flashcard. Can this help?

If i remember, there was a homebrew named "DS Backup" i think...
try searching, i can't remember ;U;
also, FBI didn't worked? o_o
also try with JKSV too .

JKSV doesnt work since its DS game, and FBI didnt worked because its bootleg cartridge, so I highly doubt that there is way to dump save, unfortunate...

Download the last JKSV. i tried sometime extract a DS Save with JKSV and worked.
Have you tried with Action Replay DSi?
I think there's no way because the game have bad checksum from the save...

this can help you too... i guess

If you have an Action Replay DSi, you can extract the save, but it'll be in .DUC format, and you'll have to convert it depending on what you want to do with it.
