Hacking External hard drive query

My HDD works fine, however i'm having issues with USB loader not initialising. Also, if I want to put emulators/roms on the hdd I can't because the drive doesn't appear on my PC and then the Wii U just wants to reformat it.

That's your issue, you can't use a Wii U formatted drive for USB Loader, your hard drive needs to be in FAT32 for USB Loader to see it

So I can't have a HDD do both? vWii use and then everyday Wii U stuff?

I formated to Fat32, USB loader tried to load, but is stuck on 'Loading: Initialising USB device'

I assume you deleted all the partition on the USB drive and then created a new partition as fat32? If it still hangs, try the other USB port.

I switched ports and USB loader said 'waiting for hard drive' then loaded as if the drive wasn't there.
