Exodus at OpenAI: The End is AI?

The exact same thing that happened with the Escapist last week or something, just happened at OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.
I can just copy/paste the whole topic and change the names basically.
The new management at OpenAI has fired founder and CEO Sam Altman for no reason, and now the entire staff is leaving, probably to make their own AI company, with blackjack and hookers.
Microsoft already hired Altman for their new AI research division, and they'll probably poach the rest of the ex-OpenAI team as well.

What the fuck is going on with "management" these days I dunno. Is it the end of fiscal Q3 or something?


Do you use ChatGPT in any of its versions or iterations?

Absolutely ****ing wretched, but not in the least surprising. They let groups like these guys do the heavy lifting, then murder them, dump the bodies -- no effort to even bury 'em -- then reap the fortunes.

AI (not really AI) tech is ready to roll pretty much. Still kinks, but almost ready for market to a more general public. Time for the big demons to take the reigns.

Looks like the higher-higher-ups at OpenAI stepped in to salvage the situation, re-hired Sam Altman, and sacked the higher-ups that fired him in the first place. And denied any knowledge or involvement in the initial sacking. Because of course.

This all reminds me of that Monty Python bit.
