I have an old R4i Upgrade card (www.r4-v.com) and I have tried a lot of firmwares from https://www.linfoxdomain.com/nintendo/ds/ but the flashcard is always stuck in "loading" message. This message is appearing even if I insert the card without SD card. Some things I have tested:
- Using a 2GB microSD card (not SDHC)
- Formatting the microSD with "official" formatter software
- Cleaning Card contacts and microSD contacts

I'm totally run out of ideas :(

You have tried this one?
R4i (green or yellow, 1.4)
R4v_R4i_v1.43_English.rar 4.29 MB
It says quite specifically yellow, 1.4 and that matches your cart.

No success
I'm starting to think that there's some physical problem in circuits...
It wouldn't surprise me, these R4 clones are made of the cheapest materials possible. They are usually pretty reliable though (until they self-brick from timebomb)
You made sure the SD card is FAT32 formatted right?

No, Panasonic formatter applies FAT because it's a 2GB microSD...
