I recently decided to give triiforce a try so I used simple fs dumper to dump my nand to my usb hd. I chose the full dump option. Everything went well with that. Then I tried to install a wad using Wad Manager 1.5 Folder Mod3. I have a 20Gig Fat32 partition (set as Active) and then the rest is WBFS. I chose ios249, then USB 2.0 as my nand emu device, then USB 2.0 as my source device. When I tried to install any wad I would get a Error ret = -1017 every time. I searched for hours trying to figure out why and I came to the conclusion that this was because I was installing from and to the same device. I then tried to copy some wads to the sd card and install the the nand emu from there. I got the same -1017 error again. So then I tried using the Wad Manager LAN edition 1.0 and installing the wads from my PC, same error. I've searched around and can't seem to come up with a reason for this, is there something that I am overlooking? I really wanted to start using triiforce so that I wouldn't have to keep swapping out sd cards for my wiiware and VC games. Sorry if this has already been answered, I have been searching for the last couple of hours though and haven't been able to find a fix.

You need to copy everything out of the WII_FS folder onto the root of the SD card.

I used Simple FS Dumper 0.42-fix2 so I'm pretty sure it already puts those folders on the root of my usb drive.

I have exactly your same problem! I remember that some time ago I was able to install wads with the nand emu, but in the last month I never succeeded once. I would like to try with an older version of cios 249 (like rev 14). However, if you only want to try triiforce, you can use a program named wad2nand which extracts the wad directly in your PC.

I tried with cios 249 rev 14 and it works: Waninkoko's WAD manager and Yawm are able to install a wad within the NAND emulated in the SD card. Any later cios revision does not work for me.

search for a program on here called "wad2nand". its much easier, just extracts the folders properly from the wad then you simply drop those folders onto your hdd.

Wad2nand doesn't do it right, it totally ignores shared contents.

    Try this http://code.google.com/p/showmiiwads/

I didn't want to use showmiiwads at first because it wasn't displaying all of my wads correctly, but I figured it out. It was because of the file permissions on them, so for future reference, if your wads aren't showing up in showmiiwads, just fix the permissions on them.
