"Error data abort!" shows up when i run a game in Twilight Menu ++

Is this with a hacked/randomized ROM?
If so, then run DS-Scene ROM Tool to apply the AP-patch to clean ROM, and then apply the ROM hack or randomizer to the AP-patched ROM.

i tried patching like you said and playing others roms that it said that it already had been patched but the problem still.
The run i am trying to make is completing the national pokedex in every pokemon, but is in heartgold the only one that crashes like that.

I'm also getting a "data abort" error, and also don't see a "game loader" setting when pressing Y. Affected game include Mario Kart DS and all three games in the Legend of Spyro trilogy, but Pokemon Conquest runs fine despite a "DSi binaries are missing" error.

fyi, the "Game Loader" setting only appears on flashcards and does not appear for games on DSi/3DS SD card.

Then either your ROMs are corrupted, or the SD card is corrupted.
Follow this to both reformat and check the SD card for errors: https://dsi.cfw.guide/
If the issue persists, then you'll need to replace/redump your ROMs.

@RocketRobz Hi, I'm new to modding and have been trying all day to get my rom working. Been searching all over but only have got one rom to be recognized by TwilightMenu++ / NDSforwarder. Im using a microSD with an SD adapter btw.

The game starts just fine, I start it in DS mode but my screen is entirely white. I hear music during the intro screen but when the title screen pops up the game immediately crashes. I have tried patching it with the DS scene rom tool but to no avail unfortunately.

I get the following error: Data abort! PC: 0206A2D8 , ADDR: 00000000
And then a bunch more error codes.

I wonder if you or anyone else knowledgeable knows a fix for my issue? Or do I just have to find a clean ROM? Im using the USA-Europe edition fyi.

first what game were you trying to play?
and is your TWilightMenu updated to the latest version?

Or do I just have to find a clean ROM?

depends, are you using a trimmed rom? if so, try with a full clean rom image specially if you were using forwarders

Im using the USA-Europe edition fyi.

To answer your questions, Im trying to play pokemon black. The rom also has dsi binaries, but neither twilightmenu nor the forwarder recognizes them. So i get prompted to boot in DS mode, which I do.
Then I get the same error code both when using twilightmenu and the forwarder.

Twilightmenu is the latest version, version 27.16.0
I tried downgrading nds bootstrap but this also didnt do anything, so I got the latest version again.

As far as I know im using a clean rom, the file size is 256 MB, and I tried putting it through melonDS on my computer, and the game works just fine there. Didnt play for a very long time, but it seemed to be working in order. So i probably think it has something to do with my sd card / nds-bootstrap / twilightmenu.

I already tried formatting my sd card a few days ago but this also didnt help sadly.

To ensure it wasnt my rom, I tried another rom, namely one with pokemon white on it. For some weird reason, it doesnt even get recognized entirely so I cant forward it, and in twilightmenu it gets shown as a bunch of random question marks.
Whats more, it also runs perfectly fine through melonDS!

So I am totally lost. I wonder if you have any more ideas? I really enjoy trying to get it to work, but I just dont have the knowledge to know what could be the issue.

Something is wrong with your SD card.
Please follow this guide to not only reformat, but check your SD card for errors as well (using the proper tools from the guide): https://dsi.cfw.guide/sd-card-setup.html
