As far as I know, using StreetPass don't get you banned.

I've sent a mail to Nintendo about my ban, pretending that I bought my 3DS this week with the error. I'm waiting an answer. In 2 days, I will be banned since one month (first ban).

Please let us know if you get unbanned.

Please excuse my stuttering, I feel really nervous talking over the phone.

Is it just me or the guy says : "If you quit playing..." (I d'ont understand what he says next, I'm not 100% fluent in oral english). It means that we have to stop playing to be unbanned ? If we continue playing while we're banned it resets the timer ?

"if you quit playing any unauthorized game or any modification the suspension will be lifted" that's what i understood

But I have already disposed off my sky3ds right after i got banned. I have only been playing games from legit cartridge. So the ban is for 21-30 working days and not 15 days?

If you're using Sky, update. Doesn't affect it.
yes itll still work, but maybe they put in something else to detect flash carts? theres no other reason for all these little updates that say something about better user experience or whatever they say... no way to look at their software build to see what changed?

It's REALLY better user experience. 9.7 and 9.8 are bug fix updates.

You didn't throw it out did you??

Could be. It seems on the surface that the big issue is that Gateway is temporarily broken for those who update. Doesn't SEEM to touch Sky.

I will never use that to play online games again. Offline games I will play maybe. But I'm not getting unbanned. It's frustrating. :(

Just posting an update that it's been 2 weeks and I'm still banned as well. I'll let you guys know on the 19th whether or not I get unbanned as well. *sigh*

At least I have an o3ds with online capabilities. =D

Quick question. I don't feel like reading 150+ pages of posts nor do I have the time. Has anyone reported being banned by just playing backups offline and with wifi disabled? I intend to only play games that I legally bought online. I was going to insert a private header obtained from my own games into my backups just to be safe but I ordered said games online and they have yet to even ship. I just wanna know if anyone's been banned from playing backups online because I really don't feel like waiting a few days (could be next week, even) for my games to come in so I can get a private header.

There's no way for Nintendo to be able to tell what header you're using on a game if you're offline. If you're playing backups with public headers while the wi-fi switch is on, I believe sometimes you can get banned if someone else is playing with the wi-fi switch on with the same header as you.

For offline games, don't even bother with a header. If you're using a Gateway, just make them all .3ds files and they can't possibly connect to the internet. If you're using Sky, just make sure that they are 100% offline and then forget it.

Unbanned! I was baned on may 7th
