You might want to update the OP, there's a way to extract a private header with Powersaves which is a far cheaper option than buying a GW and/or a low-FIRM 3DS.

Now, about the error... there where reports from germany that a lot of people where banned because of a D-bag spreading a hack via streetpass on a Zelda concert. maybe that will tell some more about the criteria of being banned by Nintendo?

I got unbanned.. Tried to use no sky no ban with a header I got but apparently I need the 45 and c2 and ae manf headers.. Im gettting them soon.. Whats a way to make sure I am unbanned? I can access the friends list

Think I got banned from Pokemon Y using my gateway card, CIA won't let me connect and My original card in sysnand gives me the same message :/

So slight update - I launched rxmode using a second sd and popped in my alpha sapphire cart it connects online just fine. Gonna redownload my Pokemon X from Eshop to see if that is banned or not.
Im almost positive nintendo is banning people who are connecting online with updates but have no record of connecting to the eshop to get those updates, Its the only thing they could use to cross reference people.

Ok not sure whats going on but I can connect online using my Pokemon Y cart after downloading the update through rx mode but the CIA on gateway mode does not let me connect even with the update so im almost positive its the updates that are flagging people .

Your sysNAND won't let you connect because it's (hopefully) on 9.2. That's fine. Can't update that. But emuNAND you can update to 9.7 (on O3DSXL at least) and that shouldn't be a problem.

What FW is your emuNAND on? Launch rxTools using browser>Launch rxMode>settings>check FW. Should read RX-E 9.7.xxxx. If it's lower than 9.7 that's the problem.

N3DSXL? Last I remember N3DSXL was having update issues with 9.7 and people were spoofing FW using rxTools. Not sure what the status is for N3DSXL. It shouldn't be having problems....

Yet another update for anyone who cares I downloaded the updates after deleting all the old ones from my 3ds using this http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-s...eshop-and-more-on-new-3ds-and-old-3ds.386591/ and now my carts connect online while in 9.2 sysnand.

Good, you found the thread. I can't say .CIA worked for me because I used SSB on Sky3DS to update to emu9.7. So maybe the CIA update was bad? Especially since the eShop worked...

And the spoofing is pretty kewl, isn't it? Glad you know how to dig.

The CIA's also now connect since the updates came from the shop.
This means either the update CIA was bad (Highly unlikely seeing as the source is used by many and updates are not system specific) or it confirms what I said nintendo can see who is updating through"legit" means or not.

Other way around if you connect online and you have the update but it does not show on there end you connected to get the update that flags you but what confuses me is how come this "ban" disappeared after getting the updates from the eShop so quickly

I think its Error 002-120 I am getting same error on playing Pokémon online. It says that you need to update the game to play, but I already have latest update. :/

Not the same thing I just got the error code even if I was on the latest update.
but yeah try to get it using Firmware spoof see if that fixes it

No, the FW doesn't matter. If your Pokémon or another game is not on its latest update, it can't connect online.
