silly question here!!

its safe play 3dsware games? like azure, shovel knight cia or .3ds versions
if i dont get my wifi conection on

i remember that i read somewhere in this tread wich 3ds keeps logs of what are you playing and when you get online it sends this information

i mean... even i dont play any game online, if i use pokebank for example im in risk to get banned ??

if its true, there are some way to delete this logs?

It'll be interesting to see what LameStop does when they start getting trade-in 3DS's that are banned, and customers who buy them then complain. It is not easy to tell whether a system is banned, because if it's reset, you'd have to attach an NNID and try to go online. Try to imagine them doing that before accepting trade-ins.

This differs from Xbox systems, where getting a console ban requires modifications that involve opening the system, which you can detect. I suppose that this is more akin to PS3 console bans, since PS3s are soft-moddable/dongle-moddable like 3DS.

Fast question guys
I am downloading a rom which is online patched. I have a private header though. Will I be ok if I inject my private header on this online ready rom?

Also I would like to ask if the ban has to do with the console itself or the NNID. I mean if a console gets banned and you create a new NNID can you go online or console is still banned?

It's pretty easy to open a 360 in ways that you cannot tell unless you open it up again. Warranty stickers are pretty easy to remove and reapply. But if GS was smart they would try to work with Nintendo. That would be the pro-consumer thing to do to make sure they aren't peddling banned systems to unsuspecting customers. Sadly I doubt GS would put in any effort to make this happen unless it really did become as big of a problem as the 360 trade ins.

Don't know if it's already been answered?
Gateway users can get public headers with Gateway Rom Patcher, it has an option to use public headers, it also can generate a matching chip ID.

Many Gateway users got there public headers first of all from here on the first page "List of shared headers":- http://gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-use-scene-dumps-with-gw-2-2-online.365829/

I think GW Rom Patcher v1.0 you just click on Public Header and it loads a Public Header ID saved in the system. So it shows a difference between using your own Private Header and lots of others just clicking on Public Header for there roms, no wounder is creating a ban wave with loads of .3dz roms using the same public header ID.

does anyone know if using the regionthree trick to play US roms on my eur 3ds xl using sky3ds can cause a ban? I got my sky3ds yesterday and been playing Pokémon OR offline but I go online to use the regionthree trick to play it...(then I turn off wifi)

anyone think this will cause any issues??

also, is there anyway to use the region three trick offline using sky3ds? does it have to be done via web browser? can I do an offline one using my iphone like android users do?

Thanks,
T

I find high unlikely that the regionthree exploit causes a ban, I used a couple times and I'm still fine. About the web exploit I think only android users can do right now which is sad because I had a samsung that died on me so I went and bought an iphone :(. If there is a way for iphone users I would love to know too!

The "banned" guy earlier claimed that he used a private header and was banned despite it. I think it should be dismissed as fear mongering though, but who knows? I don't see it on the ban list anymore, so maybe it's nothing to worry about.

I don't know which "banned guy" you are talking about... There was ShawnTRods who uses private headers and managed to fix the error himself (so it seems like it was a networking error) and SuperSVGA who uses .cia files and can still use other EmuNANDs on different SD cards (so again it doesn't sound like the usual behavior of an online ban). I read all 99 pages of this crazy thread and don't think I missed anyone. ;)

As far as I can tell there have been no confirmed cases of someone who only ran cias or only used private headers getting banned. I'm sure if there was people would be freaking out. You can't be sure since well, it's an online forum, but what else do we have to go on.

Just curious....

what Card Types have been the ones that people seem to find out they are banned on?

Pokémon is Card 2 and a lot of people are being banned after playing that online?

is the security different on these type of cards?

In theory. In reality, nobody's that organized, and programs have bugs anyway.

How dense are you to how modern companies work?

How it likely works at the normal game development shop that has a purchased SDK to the platform of their choice (I'm talking strictly XBOX, PS and Nintendo here):

1. Game is finished - Yay, rejoice we can make money! Says the developer.
2. Game is sent into game publisher for mass distribution
3. Game publisher QA's and gives OK to publish the game and begins distributing digital and physical media
4. During publishing of said media, can easily record unique license information about physical game copies into a SQL database
- Think GTA5 which also included a license key - I bought a physical copy of the game that was simply a license allowing me to download 7GB of files from Microsoft servers.

In this case that's all a header seems to be - Your legitimate license to play the game online.

im Wondering, what would happen to our save data if we change from public header to private header, will it be corrupt?,or will it be fine?
