ROM Hack editing text in pokemon super mystery dungeon??

is it possible to edit the text in this game??? if so, How do I go along doing it? I want to make a random storyline out of the gameplay such as the legendaries getting forever "stoned", not getting turned into stone

Research is ongoing over at Project Pokemon. I've written code to read the text, but it doesn't parse escape codes or save the text yet.

I don't know a lick of lua but I know css/html and a tiny bit of javascript
