Hacking Easiest CFW for 3ds

i have nothing other than a 4.5 3ds

well i have the files ready for cake cfw and i just downloaded the start pack from that video i linked

i am getting mixed replies in here, i am not sure which are accurate

people mention 3 cake, cubiv ninja, auri etc.

And someone has already posted i need a browser for the exploit while others have said that i don't

Cakes and AuReiNAND are not exploits, they are CFWs. (I'd recommend AureiNAND btw.)
Cubic Ninja is an entry point, and probably your only option because you don't have a browser.

this is what confuses me

i need cubic ninja> then menuhax> then aurinand or cakes?

for cfw i was choosing cakes because well since all of this looks messy cakes looked easier and aurinand from reading the topic for installation

if you have cubic ninja, you can use that in place of menuhax.
I highly recommend AuReiNAND over Cakes if you want something that is easy to setup and use.

Dude, your only options right now are:

• Get a gateway card
• Get Cubic Ninja
• get Ocarina of Time + Powersave
• R4 card (allows you to play downloaded games on the newest firmware)

If you get Cubic Ninja, you can skip menuhax and use it to load a CFW launcher via the homebrew menu if you are on 9.0-9.2, or downgrade to 9.2 if you are on any version up to 10.7
if you want to run AuReiNAND, I would recommend getting the OTP first.

Sorry for my unkowing, but was Cubic Ninja with ninhax not only available if you have the Browser? That was the prob by the first units of n3ds afaik.

I would recommend to do the mset exploit. For that you need a R4 or something like that. An R4 is not so expansive or you may can borrow it but take care that it is has 3ds support.
With that you can enter the GW-Menu and 'Format Emunand' and after that you can take rxtools (recommended by me) or what ever cfw you like.

After having that entrypoint you may update the Browser in Sysnand and give the R4 Card back, or ...

EDIT: I see you got R4. Can't you boot Homebrew Launcher and use SysUpdater to upgrade to 9.2.

He has a o3ds not a new model. Using a r4 is the best option. You can buy a r4i dual core or a cheap r4 snopy from the sponsor site of gbatemp.

Im not positive on this but I believe ninjhax 1(.1) needs a browser but 2(.7) does not

Don't remember if Ninjhax can run without a browser (I think yes) , but he needs FW 9.x or 10.X, so no way to run it on a 4.x without upgarding with some game cart.

Ninjhax 1 works on 4.5 actually, but I think it needs a browser

He said he already has a Sky3ds, so I would just update to 10.7 with system settings, and then downgrade to 9.2 with ninjahax on the Sky3ds cart. It's a much simpler process than a lot of the stuff floating around right now.

I have a r4 cart but even something like cakes seems like it needs something else installed like mset etc..

So i just install meset or spider? This is a bit confusing to say the least

I already have a sky3ds and this one seems like a headache

Here is what i have so far

1. an r4 card
2. I downloaded all the files in the cake cfw topic, and found the key online for the bin file needed and generated mine.

So here is what will root of sd looks like:
cakerop.nds
cake.bin
slotkeybin file
00000050
cetk
3ds folder
cakes folder
cakes vcd file

I actually deleted the ''here'' files and replaced them with what they said which i assume would be obious so the 00 and cetk files are now in the cakes folder and the slotbin file is in the root of sd

Since you have R4 if your able to play DS roms already from it then get the mset install ad file, put onto your R4 then load it to install mset
