Hacking Earlier version of wood please?

Hi, I recently posted on here about a situation I had with my 4.5.0-10u 3DS XL not rebooting when trying to enter Starter mode. Unfortunately it didn't receive too much attention but I was told by someone that it could be that the recent version of wood is broken v1.64. They suggested I tried the gateway starter but unfortunately that did not work as well. Thought maybe with an older version of wood it might, anyone have a link to one? Can't seem to find any. Also, could it be that I am using an 8gb micro SD card in the blue chip? All the guides use a 4gb but I don't have one. Other than that I have followed all guides perfectly and still can't get passed this part. Any help would be appreciated ^^

Yes along with the guide they give, I then tried other guides linked in this site with the same outcome. The guides were almost 100% similar but wanted to cover all my bases.

you put the launcher.dat file on your 3ds sd card??

Yes the full sized SD card that comes with the 3ds. I format the card and put the launcher.dat in the ROOT directory.
