Hacking E3 Flasher

Hi

I currently am on 4.75 OFW with my PS3 Fat CECHM0. I understand there are different types of E3 flasher available, and some for example i have heard cant downgrade from 4.75 OFW. is this the case? what type of E3 flasher do I need to be able to down grade my PS3?

No, the E3 Flasher does not have different types of it unless you're talking about the versions that were released (limited, full).
The E3 Flasher can downgrade from 4.75 OFW as I just did it on the 11th of July (this month).

If you're looking for a cheap E3 Flasher to get, I'd recommend getting one from this Ebay seller.

It's pretty cheap and it's not a fake, but shipping was pretty slow for me though. It took about a week and a half for it to come to me (from China to Wisconsin, shipping times may vary based on where you live). Be wary though, tracking doesn't seem to update that much so you'll never know when it actually gets to you.

I thought the E3 flasher was for NOR chips that were only found in late model phats and slim PS3's. Most phat PS3's are NAND and therefore not compatible with the E3 flasher.

That is true, however in this case the OP's PS3 does have a NOR chip.

Any E3 Flasher (excluding fakes) will work for your PS3 because it's a NOR model (CECHM-XX).

The first flasher that's linked looks like a fake considering it doesn't have the same chip as the original does (you can tell because fakes use the white text chips while the real ones do not have). But I'm not really sure because they don't take their own pictures of the product and they stole it off of someone else.
The second one... I'm not really sure of, because it doesn't have the white text on the chip (which is good), but it doesn't have the protection case for the crystal thing (which means it might be a fake).

Note, I'm not really sure if these are fake or not, buy at your own risk.

By the way, you can never know if the flasher you're buying is a fake if you never see the bottom of the board.
