'Deal-Extreme' (dx.com) is selling refurbished ds-lites
for 65$... at this price i was thinking to get one just
for the colorful options :)
could this be a fake/broken product?
sorry i know this post doesnt belong here...a mistake

There are user submitted reviews in the DX product page. Give it a look.

Refurbished means they have take a broken product, fixed it and are now selling it. You can receive a perfect condition DS lite or you can receive a DS with some random problems it depends only on your luck.

Keep in mind that these DX refurbished models usually have crappy batteries

I bought one more than a year ago.

Usually they change the casing/battery/screen/touchscreen if they are faulty.

The quality of the case is lower than the one from an original DS, same goes for the battery/screen etc... motherboard is genuine, some components (fuse) may have been replaced.

But you can't tell what will be replaced on it, it's gamble (100% of time case/battery will be replaced).

I've bought one from them about 2 years ago, Only problem i had was the battery is really crappy, only last for like 2 hrs on full charge. Easy fix for this though.

However, a friend of mine bought one from them and had tons of problems, the touch screen wasn't responsive, it had 3 dead pixels, it wont charge properly, overall it was a bad experience for him. But DX was willing to replace the system for him, the replacement one works flawlessly, the battery even hold about 8 hours of charge. So like the other said, its a gamble.
