Can Anyone recommend a good freeware DVD to mp4 converter? All the ones I've found left watermarks.

I dunno about FREE, but I use a cracked DVDFab: *snip*

It also supports hardware acceleration, so conversions take ALOT less time.

You could always use anydvd or dvdfab to break copy protection schemes and use handbrake to rip the actual video to mp4.

Edit: you can also use VLC to rip videos once you have your copy protection taken care of.

MakeMKV to rip the DVD to lossless MKV (~5mins). Then Handbrake HQ encode to MP4(depends on your settings and the video being encoded)

I second the mention of Handbrake to convert the files after ripping. The compression DVD uses is sorta' old and not as space-efficient as new ones.

Well someone show me a FREEWARE MP4 encoder that uses CUDA acceleration, and I'll edit out my post. Because everything that encodes FAST is payware, and it sucks. I fucking HATE handbrake because of how slow it encodes things.

Use one-pass encoding, or deal with the fact that quality video encoding is not realtime.

I mean, unless you're going for 0.75mbps bitrate for internet streaming or something...
