Hardware dvd+r harms disc drive?

hey folks,

i keep hearing different stories about which type of dvd to use. what do you say about dvd+r and dvd-r?
does dvd+r really harm the wii's disc drive?

I doubt it, + and - are not very different.

just buy some decent media (TY, verbs, memorex, etc) and you should be fine, regardless of using + R or - R

i hope it's untrue too, because i have like 200 dvd+r discs here and i don't want to buy dvd-r, obviously.
it's just that i keep hearing the above.

i've never heard such things. I'm not even sure why/how it would hurt them.

Im not sure but maybe if you set the booktype of DVD+r to DVD-ROM in IMGburn before burning, it may reduce the chances of DVD drive damage (if there is any chance at all, that is)

Pioneer 111d/112d burners set +r to DVD-rom automatically, for other drives use imgburn.

Anyone wanna correct me if Im wrong?
