I'm extremely new to switch homebrew, currently running version 12.0.3 on the old model, and was wondering if it is at all possible to have my current switch update usable, so I can play online with my friends, but also have a homebrew version ready on my SD, so that I can switch between the two OS as I please and also be able to mod my games (as my biggest want is to play hacks of sw/sh and mario odyssey), similar to dual-booting OSs on PC. If it is possible, can someone point in the right direcion to begin, or is it simply not possible, or perhaps is it in the works currently?

You're basically asking how to set up an emuNAND/emuMMC. Just pick a hacking guide, any, and follow it. They all have you set one up as a default configuration.

Does this have any ban risk when on OFW?
Might end up doing it on my launch model, maybe when the rumored switch pro releases

Use incognito or exosphere.ini to hide SN you should be ok...I have been using it that way for around year and a half and so far no ban.

Thanks for the pointer! Is there any guide in particular I should follow? I'm currently looking at the one on cfwaifu which claims to be without ban risk, which sets up Hekate and Atmosphere.
