I've seen some things about this only being like GateWay and requiring lower firmware and some about it being like DSTwo and working on all firmware. The last post I saw was from October. Has this been proven one way or another? I'd love to get it if it can work on my fully updated New 3DS.

Support the innovators, not the imitators. Sadly, the Supercard team changed their once successful product into another GW clone. It's still nice for the other features it offers, but I can't speak for the new card since I have the original DSTwo.
Edit: To answer your question more clearly, for 3DS functionality, you need to meet any requirements GW currently has. For the other things this card offers (GBA, SNES, DS emulation) it should work on the latest firmware - or the latest that they state they will support.

Thank you very much. That's disappointing, I was hoping it was like the DSTWO and worked regardless. I'll look into the Sky3DS+, then.
