You can update using the normal method on any DS, DSi, or 3DS model as long as you DO NOT UPDATE THE 3DS BEFORE YOU UPDATE THE DSTWO.

Always make sure the DSTwo is updated BEFORE the 3DS, and you won't have to rely on the emergency update method.

As long as the 3DS will run the DSTwo, it can update the DSTwo.

Nothing plays 3DS ROMs.

If you're asking about still playing normal 3DS carts, yes.

Like I said, flash carts do not modify the 3DS.

the DSTwo doesnt affect the console
the DSTwo merely lies to it saying its a certain game and when the 3DS checks it the DSTwo gives it what it wants and then does its thing

the completely different teams
and files wont work from one to the other

DSTwo is the only card i believe currently that isnt using a Demo Header
so any other flashcard could be dead with teh next updates if they block all DS Demos

The normal update? Not the exact same method. With the DSTwo you put the file up and it detects it automatically, with the R4i Gold (and other flash carts) you need to go run the update file as if it was a DS game.

Other than that it's the same concept.

Just like every other DSi/3DS flash cart, if you can run it you can update it.

you will always have to update every flashcard that is used in a 3DS/XL

Games come out with new anti-piracy code all the time, which is why carts need updates.

The DSTwo's "clean mode" is great, but it doesn't always work and limits the ability to use cheats and stuff, which is why even the DSTwo gets updated.

Correct me if I am wrong, but i thought that the NDS game is no longer released? that is why I ask that after the flashcart is current newest version, can I stop update it. Current version is 4.41 or something right?

3DS still block flashcards, DS games still released, pokemon Black/White 2.
current 3DS version 4.4.0-10
they will always block Flashcards as they dont want piracy

DS games are still being released. Hell, Pokemon Black/White 2 just came out a month ago.

If you're talking about updating the 3DS, yes you can refuse to update it. 3DS updates are not needed to play DS games.

Certain 3DS games will force you to update your console if you wish to play them tho
