CannonFoddr said:What's BS - My results or Nintendos specs ???gameguy95 said:^that is total BS because i play my DSi on lowest light with volume off all the time and i still barely get over 5 hour
& are you using a genuine game or a flashcard ??
I've actually managed to find the Nintendo actual specs for each system and that also confirms what I've said above

Mind you I could be getting good results 'cos I don't have the WiFi switched on (cos I don't have WiFi !!!) - whereas 'GameGuy' may've left his onYayMii said:BTW, we don't exactly know how much more battery it takes unless you test with a retail game on the same DSi.Well - time permitting I'll try this weekend with a retail game & see what times I get.
I've not got many retails (I wonder why
) but I'll do the same settings as the ones I did before (Highest light settings & idling etc) and post my results![]()
EDIT: QUOTENot to mention GameGuys95 battery may have less life left of it. Seems pretty atrocious to call it BS frown.gif

So I thought I'll just have a go & prove HOW much drain on the battery using a DSTwo actually is,and based on my results - we can see that:Cuelhu said:"Nintendo's official data" about battery life is stated in DSi's manual. If you just bothered to read it before messing around& what if you've LOST the manual..??? (FYI: You can download a copy from nintendo website)![]()
... & anyway, what's this about 'Mucking around' ??...The OP mentionedQUOTE- DSTWO is a real battery life killer, especially in-game menu isn't economical.
- Moderately low battery life even not using Gba Emu

Great list.CannonFoddr said:Results:
Note: Nintendo states that DSi Battery life on Highest Light Level = 3-4hrs
- DSi [NDS-GBA Emulator] 'Metroid - Zero Mission' Intro: 3hrs 20mins
DSi [Retail game] 'Sonic Rush' Intro: 4hrs 06mins
DSi [DSTwo+ROM] 'Sonic Rush' Intro: 3hrs 18mins
DSi [NO game card inserted] 'Health Screen'/Channels: 3hrs 59mins
DSi [NO game card + WiFi turned on] 'Health Screen'/Channels: 3hrs 37mins
Er...how do you propose he do that?YayMii said:BTW, can you do 1 more test? Use NDS-GBA with Wireless turned on.
But I guess I'll hold on to my AK2i just for battery life.

Turn the Wireless setting in the DSi to ON, then using NDS-GBA.9th_Sage said:Er...how do you propose he do that?

Also don't forget it's not JUST the light - with it switched on you also have the wireless hardware draining power, which IIRC - although it's not connected to a WiFi network it will stiill be 'broadcasting'YayMii said:Turn the Wireless setting in the DSi to ON, then using NDS-GBA.9th_Sage said:Er...how do you propose he do that?
Because that third light on the DSi somehow actually consumes about 30min according to CannonFoddr's results.

Based on your that result, I'm assuming that when the Wireless is on, it only drains more power in the DSi menu or when actually using wi-fi/wireless.CannonFoddr said:Also don't forget it's not JUST the light - with it switched on you also have the wireless hardware draining power, which IIRC - although it's not connected to a WiFi network it will stiill be 'broadcasting'YayMii said:Turn the Wireless setting in the DSi to ON, then using NDS-GBA.9th_Sage said:Er...how do you propose he do that?

Test Finished: DSi [NDS-GBA Emulator + WiFi turned on] 'Metroid - Zero Mission' Intro: 3hrs 18mins
Boy did THAT surprize me - it's nearly the same regardless of whether Wifi is On or Off
I was wondering...the results confirmed what I was thinking anyway (as to why the test wouldn't work).YayMii said:Turn the Wireless setting in the DSi to ON, then using NDS-GBA.9th_Sage said:Er...how do you propose he do that?

Um, yeah. I get that. The reason I was asking 'how' was because it didn't make sense for me since...you know, DSTwo's GBA emulator wasn't using wireless for anything. That's all. I'm seriously not trying to argue over it or anything.YayMii said:9th_Sage said:I was wondering...the results confirmed what I was thinking anyway (as to why the test wouldn't work). This is why I asked him to test the NDS-GBA with Wireless turned on:QUOTE(CannonFoddr @ Jul 11 2010, 08:09 AM) DSi [NO game card inserted + WiFi turned off] 'Health Screen'/Channels: 3hrs 59mins

Well what other test would you like ?? - I think what I've done so far covers most possibilities, although I could try 'retail game + WiFi on' and 'DS2 + ROM +Wifi on' (time permitting - don't forget I gotta have at least 6-7 hours free do to each test, what with the charging up [~2h30m] & 'idle test'gameguy95 said:keep testing things like this! very helpful info!![]()
