Hacking DSTT with plastic SD card slot

I haven't heard from Team DSTT as to whether it's real or not. However, if you use the fake-killer disabled firmware (see the FAQ), you should be fine either way.

I got the same exact DSTT as dsjo.. (without the spring) However, I did use the official 1.17 kernel for DSTT official site WITH fake-killer in it... But it runs fine.. I even use the dsttcheck if it's fake or not.. and it says "good!! (

)v" so.. Does it mean it's genuine or it may be just pretending that the thing is genuine and could break anytime? xD

Anyhow, I don't really care whether the fake-killer bust my DSTT i got it from DX (LOL) for a few $... so..

My guess is that it's real, but honestly there is no reason not to use the fake-killer disabled firmware which will work whether it's real or fake.

I got the 2i ones from DX. It seems to work fine in my DSi but it doesn't have DSTTi for the icon, it shows a DS symbol and says "Start DS Card". I just threw my MicroSDHC card in there from my spring loaded DSTTi with the 1.17 official and YS Menu and put it in my DSi and it worked correctly. It even gives the card ID when using the TTDSi Software. It has the same slot type as the second generation R4 with no spring.

Note that it doesn't seem to be working. It remains stuck on the "Menu?" screen.

Looks like the slot is broken on yours on the right side.

Unfortunately, I got no response to my e-mail to the DSTT team. In the past, they have responded in a few days.

At this point, I would expect that the pastic microSD holders are real.

Still, install the fake-killer disabled firmware rather than the official firmware. There is no downside to it, and the new 1.17a01 version has updates to the data files that increase compatibility over the official release.

i think DX is the only place selling the ones with plastic Micro SD slots.
i ordered mine from gamebygame and it's one of the new ones with the Micro SD slot on the right side.

i got one with a plastic slot and i didn't but it off of DX (because i've been ripped off too many times from DX) and it was a plastic card slot. I got it off gamezway.com

I am happy to inform you that a friend of mine also bought a DSTT card from DX, I ran the official firmware on it and it worked, so they are official!

just because the official firmware runs on them doesn't mean they are official carts(though they might be).
the fake killer kills them slowly over time not instantaneously, so fakes can run the official 1.17 firmware sometimes quite a while before it bricks them.

Still no news about these DSTT's then? There web site is so rubbish, on the deal extreme forum theres a lot of confusion as well. I would of thought DSTT would be helpful, so if they are fake ppl would stop buying these, dont help themselves do they.

The new TTI from DX sku 18944 has the plastic cardslot with a blue pcb.
The TTi checker says its real DX claims its genuine but for 10.79 i could give a god dam if its fake.

Has anyone else noticed that these plastic slots do not hold the micros very securely? The Edge and Cyclo I have require a bit of force to remove them..
