Gaming DSi XL buttons and touch screen not working

Today I was playing on my DSi XL and decided to stop playing because I had to go out.
I turned the console off as usual.

When I came back home, I turned on my DSi XL and pressed A to continue to the main menu.
After that only R and L buttons were working, no other button or even touch screen would work.
This means I could only take pictures, nothing more.
But in the "DSi camera" menu, X, Y, B and A buttons started working again!
They just don't work in the main menu.

I noticed that every button would work to continue to the main screen, as soon as "health and safety" screen appeared when I turned the console on.

I went to "touch screen calibration screen" but the touch screen won't work!

Summarizing:
Touch screen never works.
All buttons (R and L not included) don't work on the main menu.

What should I do to solve this problem?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

well...hmmm this is new to me kinda the opposite usually l and r don't work.

any ways do they work when pressed hard and spray compressed air in the buttons parts.....

did you put it near water drop or know someone who could have when you left?



l + r and start while turning on the dsi will give you recal mode see if you can do that.


(EDIT!!!! could be software damage if what you said is true but the boot screen is part of the menu so it should work...update glitch ? hardware plugged in causing interference?)

HI,

I found solution to your problem : there is continous contact on tactil screen

Edge of tactil screen is in contact with plastic of cover
-> up by hand plastic on the edge of screen and normally it will works again !

On mine, i have just put a little bit of plastic to avoid contact : it works again...

I am having this with mine
Edit: I fixed it by lifting up the edge!
